This week, at Tecnol we have been awarded the “Medi Ambient Ciutat de Reus” Award for the commitment adopted in the construction of the new headquarters.
The “Medi Ambient Ciutat de Reus” awards, presented by the Reus City Council and the city’s Chamber of Commerce, recognize good environmental practices carried out by different companies and organizations. The jury has valued the commitment we make in the field of sustainability and respect for the environment, along with innovation and efficiency in the construction of our new headquarters.
The new building and the “Medi Ambient Ciutat de Reus” Award
It is an intelligent and 100% self-sustainable building located in the Mas de les Ànimes industrial estate in Reus. In addition, it has prestigious efficiency certifications, such as the LEED Gold Construction certification from the US Green Building Council. It also has the Carbon Neutrality Certificate, the RESET Indoor Air Quality Certificate and an A+ Energy Certification. By obtaining LEED Gold certification, it has become the first building in the province of Tarragona to obtain this seal.
The president and founder of Tecnol, Xavier Martínez i Serra, who was unable to attend the award ceremony as he was away on a trip, has thus acknowledged his satisfaction with the award: “Our vocation is to be able to contribute to improving the quality of life of the whole of society and the planet in which we live.” He has also stated that it is necessary for all companies to be environmentally aware, thinking about the future of the planet. Martínez declares that “companies that are not capable of being sustainable may make money, but they have no long-term path.”
Tecnol committed to the environment
Along these lines, at Tecnol we have been working for ten years to produce and market efficient, recycled, recyclable, and sustainable products. Thanks to this vision and philosophy, growth has led us to collaborate with more than 4,000 municipalities and to be the leading company in the distribution and installation of solar lighting in Spain.
Following our commitment, Tecnol is a member of the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance, promoted by the European Commission, and we are also members of the United Nations Global Compact for sustainable development and social responsibility through the application of the Ten Principles for achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In addition, MaserGrup, a business group to which we belong, together with the Reus City Council, led the project of the Associació Comunitat Energètica del Polígon Agro-Reus, co-financed with 2M€ from Next Generation Funds. The new corporate headquarters is one of the 19 facilities involved in this joint project.
