More than 10,300m2 of photovoltaic installations in TECNOL buildings to supply factories, offices and warehouses.

In TECNOL we are committed to the environment, as such, we have installed solar panels in several of the company’s warehouses. This allows us to supply ourselves prioritizing renewable energy, self-consumption and avoiding the emission of greenhouse gases.

At present, the buildings where TECNOL operates have three photovoltaic installations in operation:

• At Guerau de Liost No. 11-13, for our offices.
• At Guerau de Liost No. 22, at the TECNOL Health factory.
• At the entrance to the subway parking lot of the new building, at Joan Fuster No. 15-23.

In addition, as part of the ACEPAR project (Associació Comunitat Energètica del Polígon Agro-Reus), three more installations are under construction at our warehouses in the industrial park and at our new corporate headquarters. With the six photovoltaic installations in the different buildings, the total surface area is more than 10,300 m2.

This initiative, approved by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, will invest 4.4 million euros and will receive a significant subsidy through Next Generation funds.

At present, the annual electricity consumption of all the buildings where TECNOL operates is about 500 MWh/year. With our growth forecast and the more than twenty electric car chargers already installed, this consumption will increase over the next few years. However, we do not expect to consume the 1,389 MWh/year generated by the photovoltaic installations. By virtue of being part of the Energy Community, we have been able to install more power than necessary. Thus, we are generating more energy than we consume and, therefore, we can share it with other companies in the industrial park and with households in vulnerable situations.

In short, at TECNOL we prioritize sustainability and base our strategies on the recovery of resources, the improvement of production processes and waste management.

We have also achieved with our new corporate headquarters, an intelligent and energetically autonomous building, different certifications that corroborate our commitment to the environment.
